County Commissioners Confirm Lake Road Paving Opinion
The Lorain County Board of Commissioners received a letter from Harry J. Kirk noting the attorney general’s opinion that the state must pay the first 18 feet of Lake Road paving. The county and villages may fund pavement beyond that, delaying work until funds are raised and village estimates completed. The decision ends a dispute over how the project should be financed and proceeds were tentatively planned for this summer with costs split between state and local governments. The letter is a formal confirmation and references earlier meetings and tentative agreements from May 1928.
