Obituary: Rhoda Lee remembered for lifelong activism in Lorain
Rhoda Lee 88 a longtime Lorain activist and community service member died Sunday. She served on local boards including the Lorain NAACP and the Fair Housing Board for decades and remained a civic presence at meetings and events. Lee grew up amid segregation in Mississippi and later in Youngstown before moving to Lorain in the late 1970s. She helped spur Youngstown Head Start, hosted a public access show, founded a Boy Scout troop, and remained active in civil rights through interviews and public forums until resigning as Fair Housing Board president in 2023.
