Hospital drill simulates bus crash with tank truck explosion
EMH and Red Cross staged a 6 am drill at Elyria Memorial Hospital to test disaster response after a bus carrying high school Explorers collides with a tank truck, causing a large blaze and injuring 25 to 30. Volunteers played victims while staff practiced ER and ICU responses, with radios via Lorain County Amateur Repeater Association and ambulances from Majoras and Dicken.

Lorain County Chapter of the American Red Cross will run first aid and CPR courses in July. The Math Media First Aid class runs July 21 22 from 9 30 a m to 2 30 p m at 10 per person. CPR sessions run July 12 13 9 20 p m to 2 30 p m and July 24 8 49 a m to 5 30 p m at 6 per participant. Minimum age 13.
