Today Is the Day 1914 Founders' Day Rhodésia Record
July 1934 marks Founders Day in Rhodesia with celestial views and a note on a 1913 Greenland Ranch record of 134 degrees. It recalls Rochambeau’s 1780 French fleet aiding American rebels at Newport and subsequent linkage to Washington’s forces near New York. The piece ends by noting royal financial strain from that expedition.

Farmers use borrowed money for many purposes
Farmers across six counties served by the Elyria Production Credit Association report using five percent loans for seed and fertilizer, dairy herd upgrades, equipment purchases, barn repairs, tax and insurance payments, and refinancing. Debentures from the Federal Intermediate Credit Bank fund the loans, with rapid circulation and broad impact on local business.
