July 3 report from an Arkansas farm house states an ex log sumo farm family was killed early today. The father and another man escaped with injuries. The 12 dead include Mrs. Mark Fehr of Warren and children Katherine 14, fnia 12, Mare 8, Ferm 6, ar 3, ar 1.
Coal operators announce a move to clear nonunion miners from the mines as a peace effort aimed at ending a long running conflict with 49,000 miners. The executive committee of the coal operators association will meet next week to formalize the actions and set terms promising a resolution to the dispute.
Orvath of Amherst faces a grand jury on a third assault charge after a Friday action by the Justice St George court. He was bound over on a $2,500 bond after a sworn complaint by Elizabeth Horvath alleging shooting with intent to harm. He has a history of recent sentences and alleged renewed assaults following release.
Plans are nearly complete for the trial of Suranus A Lengel former Canton police chief charged with the murder of Don F Mellet publisher of the Canton Daily News. Lengel faces a jury in Canton as prosecutors and law enforcement members prepare for the case and related proceedings at Ohio penitentiaries and local offices.

In Dresden region of Germany, July 2, floods have caused extensive loss of life and property. Authorities estimate about 735 people are dead with hundreds injured as rising waters swamped towns including Bergglesshubel and Dehn. A train was overturned by the flood. Details remain scarce.
John Drew, renowned American stage actor, died at 5:55 a.m. in San Francisco after a weeks long illness. Doctors cited his indomitable will as prolonging life despite arthritis and rheumatic fever. He leaves a daughter and son in law at the bedside, and his career spanned Philadelphia, New York, and Broadway drawing room roles.

In Toccoa Georgia high school principal and Baptist moderator R W G Acree was found guilty by a jury in superior court of assault and battery for whipping Mrs Ansley Bowers with masked floggers. The jury also acquitted him on a murder intent charge, and sentencing awaits trials of four co-defendants.
Miss Kathrine Kuhl 18 and her mother Mrs. John Kuhl were struck by an electric car while crossing a trestle driveway two miles west of Vermilion. The impact hurled the car 190 feet. Kathrine suffered a broken jaw and possible skull fracture. physicians are unsure about recovery. Mrs. Kuhl had cuts bruises and possible internal injuries. Both were hospitalized at St Joseph's in Lorain.
July 9 report from Cleveland notes Tim othy Healy loses re election as president of the International Brotherhood of Stationary Firemen Oilers and Railway Shop Laborers to John F. McNamara of Boston by 74 to 56. Healy's defeat comes as he prepares to depart for Europe with an international labor delegation. Separately in Cleveland after five weeks of convention sessions the Brotherhood of Locomotive Engineers reorganizes its executive personnel to address financial problems and banks, with three trustees named to lead a program worth over 58 thousand a year. Ballots were counted before adjournment. Nausaharthy and Griffin face trials as the convention nears adjournment next week.

Beginning today voters in Lorian County may request absent ballots for the August primaries by calling the board of elections. Ballots are available up to and including Saturday, Augusta, to be cast in the presence of the clerk. If out of town, ballots may be requested but must be voted in the presence of a notary public. About 199 to 150 residents used absent voting in recent elections, with higher totals in some November elections, per Clerk Mary F. Seward.
