County Recorder Reports Unusual Activity Amid Deed and Mortgage Totals

County Recorder William G Mitchell released annual figures showing deeds and leases across agricultural lands, towns, and city lots, with substantial mortgage cancellations and new loans on farm and city properties. Totals include agricultural deeds 114 for 5326 acres, city and village lots 918, and new mortgages totaling over 10 million dollars. The report was sent to the secretary of state in Columbus.

Donahey frees nine Lorain liquor violators for relief work

Governor Donahey ordered nine Lorain county liquor law violators released from Elyria jail to aid tornado relief in Lorain. The men Joseph Wargo Yatso Rodin George Miller John Mirich Charles Rottman Steve Dmeter Joseph Dickson Mike Stankovicz and John Green will work under the governors relief commission.

George Glendenning former Elyrian dies in Lorain

George Glendenning long time Lorain resident and Glen's proprietor died at his Lorain home on 108 Arizona avenue. Born in Toronto on June 18 1853 he was near 72. Survived by widow son Angel five grandchildren one great grandchild and sister Mrs Maude Austin of Dover. Funeral Friday at Wickens Memorial Lorain with interment in North Olmsted family lot.

Milk Hauling Case Heard by Ohio Judge

Judge Thompson heard a law question in the case of George J. Myers vs William H Kinm over Myers being barred from hauling milk for the Ohio Farmers Co operative Milk Association. Myers says Col lister Freeman law makes him a common carrier. Kinm disputes that status pending utilities rulings.

Mrs William Tite 78 Dies at Eaton Home

Mrs William Tite of Eaton died yesterday at her home at age 78 3 19. She leaves husband and five children Frank S. Tite Ernest A. Tite Mrs Mabel E. Durkee Mrs Fannie M. Crowell and Carl W. Tite. Funeral Thursday at 2 pm from the Eaton home Rev Eicher will officiate burial at Butternut Ridge cemetery.

Elyria VFW Names Chetham Kew Adjutant

Ernest F. Chetham of 214 George Street was unanimously elected adjutant of the Elyria VFW post succeeding C A Baker who has moved to South Amherst. Major J F Murbach left the selection to members and Chetham is popular with comrades. A committee will draft a Lorain VFW relief commendation for their tornado aid. The G A R and families are invited to a banker picnic at Riverview Park on Wednesday July 16.

Lorain Relief Drive Under Way Across County

A Lorain relief drive aims to raise 25000 for Lorain relief with E F Allen as chair and T L Moise as secretary. Four teens charged after Ardmore Klan demonstrations

Four teen men were arrested on charges of inciting to riot assault and battery unlawful assembly and attempted murder in Ardmore and Upper Darby incidents tied to Ku Klux Klan demonstrations. Elyria Legion Supports Lorain Post After Devastation

Elyria Post No. 12 of the American Legion appointed a committee to assess Lorain Post No. 30 losses and authorize up to 50 dollars from its treasury for relief. Lorain Post 30 rooms in the State Theatre building were destroyed with banners and rifles lost. Elyria Post 12 will extend room use and aid to Lorain Post 30 and coordinate with ex servicemen to guard the devastated area. Two new members were welcomed.

Lorain Erie Avenue Bridge Consulting Fee Donation

Lorain county commissioners hired Wendell B P Brown Co of Cleveland to survey storm damage to the Erie avenue bridge. They received a 950 bill and a request to donate the sum to the Red Cross fund. Commissioner Richmond said a check will be sent to the Red Cross.
