Eagle Scout Award for Grafton youth follows local ceremony
Jeremy S. Fislkowski, 16, son of Steve and Sandra Fialkowski of Grafton, received his Eagle Scout Award in a May 5 ceremony at the Grafton Township Fire Station. His Belden Troop 115 project built a sand volleyball court at Belden Community Park. Also noted is a $500 Tzank Walton League scholarship awarded to Jill Brown of Lorain, an Elyria High School 1996 graduate.

Absentee voting for the August 6 Avon and Avon Lake City School District election is available at Lorain County Board of Elections offices in Elyria and Lorain. Hours are 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. weekdays and 6:30 a.m. to noon Saturday August 3. The deadline is August 3 and requests may be mailed with name, residence, absent reason, ballot address, and signature.
