Conception breakthrough could lead to new birth control drugs

Washington AP reports scientists isolated a protein named ZRK or zona receptor kinase that enables sperm to penetrate the human egg. Researchers say drugs neutralizing ZRK could form a new contraceptive class and may yield vaccines or male birth control options within about a decade, with work published in Science.
