Libraries reject movie rating labels on videocassettes
Librarians at the ALA conference debate whether libraries should label videocassettes with MPAA ratings. Pamela Bonnell of Plano Texas says they remove labels, citing no strong demand. Other librarians note costs and age restrictions, while ALA lawyers warn ratings lack legal status but may influence minors. The debate centers on balancing parental guidance with library policy.
