Youth charged with possession of marijuana in Elyria
An Elyria youth, Robert Lowe aged 18 of 115 Midvale Ave, was charged with possession of marijuana after police found a suspected substance in his pocket while booking him on a separate charge. He had earlier been charged with physical control of a motor vehicle while intoxicated after being found unconscious behind the wheel of a pickup on Cleveland Street at Rt 57.

Grafton escapee recaptured by Monroeville police
Cleveland youth Ronald E. Smith, 20, who walked away from the State Farm recreation area Saturday evening, was recaptured about 5:30 a.m. yesterday and taken to the Huron County Jail. No downed plane found after search near Amherst
A three hour search by Lorain County Sheriff's deputies failed to locate any aircraft crash near Rt 58 by Spring Lake Park. About six people heard a stalling engine and saw a bright flash, but deputies found no debris or oil spills. A jet-engined car at Lorain County Speedway may explain the lights and sound.

Bullet through wall at West Elyria home shocks resident
