Pheasant Run Village planned as largest Ohio mobile home project

A $40 million recreational oriented mobile home community is planned southwest of LaGrange on what is now Ponderosa Pines Park. Pheasant Run Village will cover 735 acres with 2200 home sites for about 7000 residents and include a lake, sports center, shopping plaza, an 18 hole golf course, clubhouse and pro shop. Taxes could total $572,608 with nearly 80 percent aiding La Grange Township schools. Homes sold for $5,000 each to owners.

Late lawyer forces delay in bribery trial

In Lorain County Court a bribery trial for Willie Watson and Theron Burnett was postponed as Cleveland lawyer Stanley Tolliver appeared to discuss possible guilty pleas. The judge delayed proceedings after Tolliver advised he would enter pleas for his clients and the prosecutor indicated witness testimony would be curtailed. Daniel Alonzo earlier pled guilty to two counts, while Watson and Burnett maintained innocence and awaited Tolliver guidance.

Weather outlook shows warmer temperatures and sunny skies
