The Lorain County veterans center notes a shift in inquiries with education and employment topics rising. Inquiries about educational programs and job-related aid increased while overall call volume declined from May, allowing more targeted assistance to veterans, survivors, and families.
Lueihl Gal F Luell of Minneapolis, a Northwestern Air Lines filer and former Navy air force officer in World War II, was connected to an aviation plot spanning Alaska to the South Pacific. He had traveled from Minneapolis to Billings and then to another destination, after visiting Maree W. Duell in Ohio.
A striking brunette gunwoman entered a Cleveland saloon, flashed a pearl-handled revolver, and forced five people to the back. The haul was $35 as the first known armed holdup by a tone gunwoman in years.

Mrs Sam Kassouf formerly of Amherst died in Cleveland hospital. Mrs Elizabeth Kelling died at daughter’s home. Ethel Offenburger 45 of Riverside Homes died. services in Columbus later. Postmaster C. J. Sartor announces the return of parcel post to Austria with shipments resuming. Packages must weigh no more than 11 pounds and be under 72 inches in length plus girth. non-perishables may be mailed. Rates start at 4 cents for the first pound and 16 cents for each additional pound.

The old saying about prices returning to norm appears true for green beans after policy shift. Observers note selling on green beans paused at 96.08 per half bushel yesterday and 61.48 per crate after OFA expiration.
A motor heating caused a fire at a food market near Roat River mines last night. Firemen from two companies contained the blaze to the motor and limited damage to the building and food products. Business continued without interruption today.
The Missionary Alliance daily vacation Bible School closed its first week with 65 boys and girls enrolled and 55 average daily attendance. Classes at First United Presbyterian Church on East Avenue and Second Street run daily with a closing program planned next Friday and a picnic next Saturday. Enrollments remain open for next week.
Mr and Mrs Adams and their daughter were reunited in Cleveland after Adams served three years in the Army Air Corps overseas for two years. The family, who wed in England, traveled from New York aboard the USS Bridgeport, to begin life again at 36 Third Street. Adams is the son of Ruben F Adams of 226 Erie Street.
The Senate sent to the House a bill to expand federal funding for vocational education. It would more than double appropriations, with 816 million for agricultural and vocational education including Future Farmers of America and New Farmers of America programs, 96 million for home economics education, and 95 million for distributive and industrial training. The remaining funds would broaden programs in specified occupations.
Building inspector Matt Dicka ton issued four residential permits. John Gecelowski received a 3 by 28 foot one story house and garage at 1084 Bell Court for 35,500. Robert Mazetton obtained a 22 by 28 foot dwelling and 10 by 10 foot addition at 347 Bon Air Avenue costing 92,300. Bernard Lowery was approved for a 24 by 21 foot one story frame house on Dilworth Street for 5,000. Charlie Ehrman at 911 Clark Street was granted authorization for an 18 by 28 foot one story frame dwelling near Mt North Abbe Road.
