Babson Reviews Rail Situation Optimistic for Prosperity
Roger W Babson argues railroads are profitable and expanding, noting 191,000 freight cars loaded in May 1923 with earnings rising despite weather and rate cuts. He says rail stocks rise with the market and urges support for rail improvements to fuel a new prosperity phase. He cites a 1 percent normal Babson chart and warns of potential policy challenges.
