Butchart Biv es Address at First Sunday Union Service
The first in a two part union service series was held Sunday at the First Congregational Church. Rev J H Grant presided with music by Garford Oliver of New York. Oliver, a lyric tenor, sang Elijah and Day is Over, praising immigrant church work and urging greater church involvement in aiding newcomers. Dr Butchart of Grew? Church Cleveland spoke on The Unclaimed America urging earnest effort toward immigrant assimilation, drawing on 17 years in the city’s immigrant dynamics. The next service will be at the Church of the United Brethren with Rev W L Burner and IA B Storms of Baldwin College. National News Service.
