Lorain Fire Department Cuts Strain City Response
Lorain faces a fire surge with half the department laid off over the weekend. Capt. Greg Neal cites eight on duty Monday versus 16 prior, as a four unit blaze on West Erie Avenue burned for over 10 minutes while awaiting mutual aid. All 11 quadplex residents were displaced. The cuts stem from a 1.4 million mandate within a 3.6 million deficit.

Medina County man dies in two-car crash in Grafton Township
Valley City man Hector T. Abreu, 34, died at the scene after running a stop sign on Mennell Road and colliding with a 2010 Toyota Corolla on Route 303.
