New Ford Road bridge could be completed later this year

Elyria reports the Ford Road bridge over the Black River near Bar Oak Reservation could finish by late fall or early winter. Tim Ujvari says good weather and few snags keep the $3.1 million project ahead of schedule as two pylons rise and embankment work begins. The old 1950s span will be removed after the new two-lane bridge, 263 feet long, opens with higher clearance to handle a 100-year flood.
