Handicapped Bill of Rights Signed by Ohio Governor
Ohio will enact a comprehensive handicapped rights bill protecting against housing employment credit and insurance discrimination effective July 23. The law expands civil rights protections, provides tax incentives for accessible buildings, and grants disabled drivers special plates and parking rights. By 1980 polling places must be accessible. Penalties include jail and fines. A separate San Francisco note reports a welder linked to theft of stained glass from churches and homes, with 20 windows recovered.
