Oberlin man fined for fishing without license in incident

Paul J Breitenstine, 31, Canal Fulton, paid 5 in Oberlin Municipal Court for failing to procure an Ohio fishing license after an interaction with game protector Harold Dalrymple at Camden Lake. Dalrymple reported Breitenstine pretended not to fish, then admitted the offense. fined 15 with 10 suspended by Judge David R Goldthorpe.

TWA claims new transcontinental speed record

Trans World Airlines announced a new transcontinental speed record of 4 hours 21 minutes on a New York to Los Angeles flight. Capt. William Townsend of Los Angeles piloted the Boeing 707 Starstream jet carrying 115 passengers. The record time beats the previous mark by 24 minutes.
