Tax collection totals for last half of 1927 noted
County Treasurer A H Waters reported that tax collection for the second half of 1927 reached 2 485 000. He said initial charges on the books were about 2 800 009 leaving roughly 316 900 unpaid. Much of the overdue amount dates back years and results from delays in tax sales and payments. He noted current taxes overdue are part of the 598 000 figure and emphasized ongoing receipts are subject to a 10 percent penalty if unpaid by June 29. Waters praised this year’s unusually strong collection overall.
