Elyria City Hall on Court Street a historic cornerstone
The 1867 City Hall on Court Street stands as the oldest original site city hall in Ohio. It housed city and township offices and hosted an opera house after 1868 with renovations in 1904 and again in the 1930s. It remains part of Elyria’s civic fabric, though debates over a new central fire station and location continue.
