Hilltop Opens for Girl Scout Out-Of-Door Camping

Miss Jean Templer Assigned for Overseas Teaching Post

Miss Jean Templer of 2 Seminary Street Greenwich has been chosen by the Army Department for overseas civilian work with the U S Army in Europe as an elementary school teacher for 12 months. She will be processed in Marion Ohio and expects port call early August for a late August arrival in Germany. Templer, a Ohio University graduate, has taught in Elyria and belongs to several education and women’s associations. She speaks German and toured Mexico in 1951. The Marion Engineer Depot handles overseas recruitment in Northern and Central Ohio. Everett Snyder leads the program and Templer is the third applicant this year for permanent overseas duty.

Brownies Begin Second Day Camp Session Next Week

Girl Scout Day Camp for Brownies starts Tuesday with eight days of activities split across two July sessions from July 7 to 10 and July 14 to 17. Buses depart at 9 a.m. and return by 3 30 p.m. daily, with lunches first four days and cookouts later.

Miss Patricia Radican Leaves for Europe on Student Liner Cruise

Miss Patricia Ellen M Radican daughter of Mr and Mrs Patrick Radican of 1202 Middle Avenue leaves by plane this morning for Quebec Canada then sails tomorrow for Europe aboard the all student liner Mr Arosa Kulm. In Europe she will visit her brother Pvt Henry Radican stationed with the Honor Guard in Venice Italy who will take a ten day leave July 21. She plans to return September 3.
