Hilltop is prepared for Elyria Girl Scout Council troop camping through October 30. Any troop with two day hikes may participate. Contact the camping committee for details. chair Mrs. Edward Frabotta leads the committee with assistants Mrs. Earl Brown and others.
Miss Jean Templer of 2 Seminary Street Greenwich has been chosen by the Army Department for overseas civilian work with the U S Army in Europe as an elementary school teacher for 12 months. She will be processed in Marion Ohio and expects port call early August for a late August arrival in Germany. Templer, a Ohio University graduate, has taught in Elyria and belongs to several education and women’s associations. She speaks German and toured Mexico in 1951. The Marion Engineer Depot handles overseas recruitment in Northern and Central Ohio. Everett Snyder leads the program and Templer is the third applicant this year for permanent overseas duty.

Girl Scout Day Camp for Brownies starts Tuesday with eight days of activities split across two July sessions from July 7 to 10 and July 14 to 17. Buses depart at 9 a.m. and return by 3 30 p.m. daily, with lunches first four days and cookouts later.
Miss Patricia Ellen M Radican daughter of Mr and Mrs Patrick Radican of 1202 Middle Avenue leaves by plane this morning for Quebec Canada then sails tomorrow for Europe aboard the all student liner Mr Arosa Kulm. In Europe she will visit her brother Pvt Henry Radican stationed with the Honor Guard in Venice Italy who will take a ten day leave July 21. She plans to return September 3.
Mrs A R Chapman reviewed Mr Jones Meet The Master for Golden Rule Bible Class of United Presbyterian Church at Miss Donald Phelps Olmsted Falls home on Bagley Road. Meeting opened with singing and prayer, devotional topic Harvest of the Earth Is Ripe, 26 visits reported in June, August recess announced.
Mary A Chandler Tent No 122 held a meeting at the Methodist Home with Mace Russell presiding. Reports included letters of approval from the department inspector and cheer chair, thanks from the Sandusky Soldiers Home chaplain, and appointments of Reba Hulse Irene Herrick and Kathy Richards. The group planned August 6 at Mary Garrett's home and visited the new chapel. A handkerchief shower was given for Mrs Kenneth Gooden. An A M E Doll Hospital ad promotes service at Brown Jewelers North Ridgeville.

Lorain Elyria and Amherst families join Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Solt of 221 Washington St Findlay for a Sunday golden wedding observance with 1 to 3 pm open house and dinner at Moose Hall 200 East Front. They were married July 5 1903 by Rev William S Harpster in Akron.
About 20 members of the Private Duty Bureau and their families gathered at Ely woods for a 6 p.m. picnic on Wednesday. The event also featured a pink and blue shower for Mrs. Jean Kershaw.

Miss Margie Horn was honored at a cocktail party and shower hosted by Mrs. Filbert Baird at 112 Eastern Heights Boulevard followed by dinner at Bess And Andy's on Cleveland Road. The event celebrated Miss Horn's upcoming marriage to James Ball of Bellevue on August 1 with gold and white decor and gifts including a nylon robe.
Dr. Bob Miller of Route 10 East of LaPorte will be out of town from July 12 to July 26.
