Police in Ohio conducted 2814 auto inspections as part of the Safe Driving Program. Lt J E Boggs reported 1047 defects found and 17 arrests, including 9 for unsafe vehicles and 8 for licenses violations. Four cars were junked. common defects included 101 brakes and 149 tail lights. Services Set Thursday for Plane Crash Victims
Funeral services for Russell Rich his wife Joy and daughter Sally Ann are scheduled Thursday at 2 p.m. from Wainwright Funeral Home after a Piper Cub crash near Ellizabethton Tennessee last Friday. The bodies will reach Elyria Tuesday evening and may be viewed after 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Surviving relatives include Mrs Nellie O Farrell of Akron three brothers William Edward and Robert two sisters Isabelle Tipton and Mary Elizabeth O Farrell. The Rich family will be buried at Brookdale Cemetery while Sally Ann will be buried beside her mother at Ridge Hill Cemetery with Dr J H Sivard of the First Methodist Church officiating.

Fall Down Stairs Fatal To Vincent Man
Vincent Charvet, 61, of Ridgewood Street, Vincent, died at St. Joseph's Hospital Lorain after falling down basement stairs at Mapie Inn North Ridge and West River roads. He suffered a fractured skull and right shoulder while assisting the bartender carrying wine bottles. Charvet was found at 11 30 am by Charles Mills the bartender. His nearest relative is nephew Edward Sable of Oberlin.
