Contract talks stall over wage gaps in Lorain County district
A court filing blocks resuming negotiations as Powell Money dominates talks with North Ridgeville staff ranks. The 2014 board offer proposed raises up to 19.2 percent for nine job classifications, with bus drivers set for seven to thirteen point seven percent boosts and custodial staff at eighteen point one percent. The district says gains would raise pay to mid-range countywide, while the union says increases were uneven and insufficient. Talks have been at impasse since mid-2014, with mediation sought but rejected by the union. Contact details provided for Steve Fogarty of Chronicle-T.
