Construction workers prep to pour concrete on the Michigan Avenue bridge over Interstate 670 in Columbus on Monday, as crews finalize the Ohio project.
Ohio nears completion of a half mile segment of Interstate 670 that will finally wrap nearly 50 years of building the states interstate system. The project, running from I-70 on the west side to I-270 near Port Columbus, totals 200 million dollars with completion expected by September.
In southeast Ohio the state pushes nearly 300 million dollars in U S 33 improvements from Columbus to the Ohio River. A 51 million Ravenswood Connector will link US 33 to I 77 in Ravenwoods WV. The Lancaster bypass, 13 miles, opens this year and should halve Lancaster traffic on US 33. Other projects target Athens to Darwin and Nelsonville corridors.
