Plane crash kills flier Wilmer Stultz and two passengers

New York July 2 Roosevelt Field officials blamed safety rule violations for the death of famed aviator Wilmer Stultz and two passengers Edward Harwood and Pasquale Castelluccio. Shoes jammed under the rudder bar supported the theory that the passengers froze to the dual controls, preventing Stultz from recovering from a falling leaf descent. Stultz, who had just served as pallbearer at Jack Ashcraft’s funeral, had been stunting with the passengers for some time.
