Deathless Death Poem Correctly Credited to J L McCreery
In Pelhi India on July 2 relatives of Iowa poet J L McCreery dedicated a tablet noting the poem There Is No Death was authored by McCreery in 1863 and not Edward Bulwer Lytton as long believed. The miscredit arose from clerical errors and editors misattributions, traced through Arthur's Magazine, Farmer's Advocate, and Lippincott's before correction in 1889.
