Spencer to Host Two Weekends of Fun and Festivities
Spencer outlines two upcoming events. First, the July 4 celebration at Spencer Community Park hosted by the Fireman's Association with an ice cream social games and fireworks drawing hundreds of attendees. A rain date is set for July 9. Community members are asked to donate cakes and pies for the food stand and contact Anna Carpenter or Shirley Williams with contributions.

Black River hosts July 4 show with antique and modern costumes

New London Board Hires Attorney for Suit
The New London Board of Education hired attorney Stephen Bennett in a special session to represent it in a suit filed Sept 8 1982. The action targets Lesko Associates Ohio Mechanical Contractors One Farmers Insurance Powell Foster Miller and Koppers Co over a 1961 roof at New London High School that leaked after completion in September 1981. The board seeks compensatory and punitive damages potentially over 300000 with claims of faulty work defective materials and a bonded insurer failure and a hazard from sodden wires. Previously represented by George C Ford of the Huron County Prosecutor’s office until June.
