Pease pushes bills to reinstate extended jobless benefits
U S Rep Don J Pease introduces legislation to restore 13 weeks of extended unemployment benefits by lowering the eligibility threshold from 6 percent to 5 percent. He argues current rules undercount unemployed workers by removing names from rolls after benefits expire. Ohio’s rate hovered near 5.5 percent, delaying extra weeks.
