Asphalt plant to open July 8 in Columbia Township
The Hawke Road asphalt plant owned by George Crose is set to begin operations July 8 in Columbia Township's industrial district. It will produce up to 700 tons daily with a 60 by 40 by 60 foot footprint, costing about $150000, and will operate as a sales division of C and S Limestone with on site limestone yard and scales. The site lies near the New York Central tracks and Rt 82, with power and gas available and potential road issues from heavy truck traffic noted.
