Vermilion tavern fire kills man in suspected break-in
A pre dawn fire at Giardini's Tavern 2610 Liberty Ave Vermilion left a young man dead. Firefighters forced entry from a back door sealed to weatherproof it and found the victim near the doorway. An official from the state fire marshal’s office planned to inspect the site as investigators pursued leads about a break in and possible gasoline involvement.
