Fight Rages Over Peace Utility Rate Law Repeal
Columbus Jan. 31 Senator George H. Bender of Cleveland condemns a bill to repeal the Peace Utility rate law as one of the most vicious measures in years. He opposes its enactment, calling the proposal a political machine that would shift utility control from the commission to a single superintendent appointed by the governor. He warns it creates an autocrat responsible to no one on the commission and dangers public policy and service.
