New Heater Uses Cross Draft For Full Combustion
In Elgus Ohio a heating company touts a new heater with a cross-draft design. Air enters above the grates then through an unburned area to meet a second air stream, promoting thorough combustion. Two air bins meet, driving volatile gases through the flame to improve efficiency and curb smoke. Operating cost claimed to be over 50 percent lower than coal heaters. One loading can burn 16 hours on high, 72 hours on low or banked fire.
