San Remo casino swindle arrests 48 croupiers and patrons
Italian authorities busted a long running roulette rigging scheme at the Municipal Casino in San Remo. Eighteen croupiers and supervisors and 30 favored customers were arrested for aggravated embezzlement and fraud as experts led by Christian Caro and Philippe Force of a Paris firm examined how the wheel favored certain bets. The operation allegedly netted between 10 and 20 million dollars over years, with officials noting the casino's profits lagging behind others.
