Elyria Center Demonstrates Rubber Mats By Sightless Workers
The Elyria Center for the Sightless showcases weekly demonstrations of crafts by visually handicapped men and women. Workers assemble five by six foot mats from discarded auto tires using cut rubber strips mounted on wire, with mats supplied for a local Elyria factory. The center plans to participate in a materials program for workshops employing handicapped people, amid rubber conservation rulings and scarce supplies.
