Firelands school thefts total 100 dollars in cash and equipment
Firelands district reports break ins across Firelands High School junior high and Henrietta Elementary on Vermilion Rd. Entry occurred between 11 p.m. and 7 a.m. Windows and doors were damaged. Cash and equipment valued around 100 dollars were stolen including a microphone amplifier and office items.

Truck collision injures driver in North Ridgeville
A 1968 Myers Meat Co. truck driven by Thomas Carl Mahany 51 of Rocky River collided with a westbound car driven by James J. Nickels 40 of Cleveland as Nickels attempted a left turn from Route 10 onto Route 76. Mahany sustained a spinal fracture and both vehicles suffered front-end damage and were towed. Mahany in fair condition at Elyria Memorial Hospital and Nickels treated for minor injuries. Police cited Mahany for improper left turn. Date 4:25 p.m. at the Rt 10 76 intersection.

John Moldovan 58 was found shot under the chin with a shotgun at his feet in his Sheffield Township residence. Deputy Coroner Dr. Charles Chesner ruled the death a suicide. Survived by three daughters, three sisters, six brothers, and six siblings. funeral services to be held at Reichlin-Cooley Funeral Home with burial in Calvary Cemetery.
