Memorial Service Honors WW II Service Member
An impressive memorial service was held at the First Methodist church in Wellington for Pie Armand BE. Eng, son of Mr. and Mrs. Myron T. Rosign of Elyria and grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Harvey Myers. Veterans and American Legion members attended as Rev. Frank Reeder and Rev. Herbert A. Cassidy led tributes. The service included an observant procession, a memoriam address by Rev. Green, and the firing party and color guards. A flag presentation and benediction concluded the rites before a gathering of relatives and parishioners. The late Pfc. Ensign served as a sailor on the Leopold when torpedoed on Christmas Day, 1944.

Soldier Quarrels With Wife Ends in Triple Tragedy
A discharged soldier shot and killed his wife Mary Adel and their two year old daughter Mary Ann before killing himself with a 12 gauge shotgun. The suspected motive traces to a month long quarrel since his return from overseas, with police noting a long pattern of domestic dispute. The scene was the Chapman family home in Hyattsville Maryland, where the killer also threatened their four year old daughter Carl Ann, who was reportedly removed by the mother prior to the shooting.
