Williams Eyes More Budget Cuts in Lorain County
Lorain County Commissioner Tom Williams proposed shaving 20 000 from a 100 000 annual grant to Lorain County Transit and scrapping a 13 676 lease for the Clerk of Courts title office at St Joseph Community Center. He also called to end a 15 300 lease for Coroner Paul Matuss Oberlin office. Fellow Democrats Kale and Kokoski supported Transit cuts and moving offices to a county building, but insisted the St Joe presence remain. They warned that closing the center could saddle the county with a 750 000 state loan payoff.
