CHP Study Ranks Hospitals for Improved Care Funding
The federal trial covered 286 hospitals nationwide, rating care in five categories and ranking top hospitals for extra funding. Community Health Partners placed in the top seventh percentile for pneumonia care, heart failure response, and heart attack treatment, with CHP receiving 106000 dollars in 2006 for similar performance. The study began in 2008 and ran three years, with final year data expected later. Experts say the system showed hospitals improved from year one to year two, supporting this funding approach.
