Lorain man finds steady work with mature services program
Steve Fogarty profiles Galen Struckoff, a 57 year old Lorain custodian at Horizon Activities Center, who credits Mature Services Inc of Akron for placing him in a stable, minimum wage job. The program helps older workers, often in their 60s to 80s, gain job skills and transition to private sector employment while offering temporary wage support. It operates in 24 Ohio counties, with a Lorain County office opened in July 200%, aiming to place more trainees and reduce turnover costs for employers.
