Ike to Urge Taft Hartley Amendment
WASHINGTON UPI Republican congressional leaders said President Eisenhower will submit to Congress on Wednesday an overall labor legislation program urging amendments to the Taft Hartley Act and curbs on racketeering in unions. They added the President agrees with blowing the whistle on Lyndon B. Johnson’s prediction of frequent vetoes this session, but he has no plan to threaten veto powers in advance. The leaders also said a special agriculture message would go to Congress Thursday if both houses are in session.
