German Shepherds to Be Eyes for the Blind by Lions Club
Two sister German shepherds donated by Ernest W. Neubauer are set to be trained as seeing eye dogs. William D. Holt and Gus Zaffer board the almost nine month old pups at Island Road until they reach nine months and ship to Columbus for Lions Club training. Neubauer started breeding dogs to support sight-saving work and plans further donations, noting females are preferred for the program due to temperament and loyalty.
