Girl Scouts DreamLab opens in Sheffield Ohio first in state
Jane Christyson opened the Jane Norton Girl Scout Dream Lab at 5255 Detroit Road in Sheffield the first of its kind in Ohio and among ten nationwide. More than 50 people attended the Friday morning ceremony honoring Jane Norton who died in April 2023. The lab features climbing walls 3D printing stations and badge-aligned STEM activities while promoting outdoor life skills entrepreneurship and STEM. Educators can use it as a field trip site and funding came from Norton Ford Motor Company Elyria Rotary Club and the Community Foundation of Lorain County.

LifeCare vehicle stolen then recovered during medical call
A LifeCare ambulance and command vehicle were at a medical call on West Erie Avenue Lorain when a man entered the Ford Explorer Interceptor and drove off. Police spotted the vehicle, pursued briefly, and recovered it about 10 minutes later at Jae ger and Leavitt roads. Tristen Wyatt, 20, is charged with grand theft of a motor vehicle and failure to comply with police. He awaits an initial appearance in Lorain Municipal Court with a $50,000 cash bond.

Candorville Comic Strip Removed From Chronicle-Telegram
The Chronicle-Telegram will no longer carry the Candorville comic strip. Creator Darrin Bell was arrested in mid January in Sacramento California after police found a cache of child pornography in his home. He is charged and awaiting trial.
