Washington AP A 76 year old John Glenn, America's oldest astronaut, tours the space shuttle Columbia at Cape Canaveral. Man sues Ross Incineration Services over burns from spilled chemicals

Elyria resident Ronald Banks, awaiting trial in his wife’s 1997 murder, says chemicals splashed from an Aug 12 1994 loading incident into an incinerator caused burns covering more than half his body. He testified that safety gear protected the front but his back was burned as the drum lid popped and ignited. Banks’ deposition accompanies motions to dismiss the multimillion dollar suit, with defense citing a unique accident and skid residue. Banks has pleaded not guilty and not guilty by reason of insanity to aggravated murder charges.
