Episcopal minister suspended for marrying Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden
The Rev. Richard York of Berkeley was suspended indefinitely by Bishop C Kilmer Myers for marrying Jane Fonda and Tom Hayden without seeking an ecclesiastical annulment of Fonda's prior marriage. York's action violated canon law. the ceremony occurred last weekend in Los Angeles.

Oberlin youths named in principal's assault
Two high school students attempted to enter Oberlin Junior High School 8:45 a.m. The principal James Muzzy Jr. warned them out after a verbal dispute. Donald Earl 18 struck Muzzy. Earl faces assault battery charges. a 15 year old was cited for verbal assault and referred to Juvenile Court. The youths were later apprehended by police.

Brookside High School DECA students adopt 13 year old Sonia Marie Duarte from Brazil through Foster Parents Plan of NYC. Sonia lives in a poor home with six siblings and no running water. Brookside DECA will support her as foster parents until she can visit the United States.

Elyria man fined for DUI in municipal court
Milton J. Walker of 405 Oberlin Rd pleaded no contest to driving under the influence in Elyria Municipal Court. He was fined 250 dollars plus costs and sentenced to three days in jail with one day credited. No license suspension appeared on the court records.
