Elyria deputy registrar led state license bureau earnings
Elyria's deputy registrar David Kaszubinski ran the auto license bureau at 229 Broad St and collected 239273 in fees last year with about 22700 donated to the Lorain County Democratic Party. Ohio’s 1986 report shows Kaszubinski among the top earners for license agencies and notes broad political ties in fee collection and contributions. The statewide system relies on politically appointed registrars who generated nearly 90 percent of fees totaling about 18.4 million dollars for parties, with the mechanism under review as bills seek to shift to mail licensing.
