Democrats Fight Tax Cut Bill
Democrats charged that the rich would be the chief beneficiaries of a proposed across the board income tax cut. They cited figures from the Internal Revenue Bureau in opposition to Harald Knutson’s bill. The plan would yield a 20 percent cut for incomes up to 302000 a year. Bureau data show a three dependent earner paying taxes would see tax changes, with debates over exemptions to aid lower income brackets.
