Fresno Cal January 23 Elton Stone a 30 year old former convict was taken under guard to a secret destination after confessing to the murder of 14 year old Mary Stammer of Fresno High School The confession noted he killed the girl over a family grudge and that if she or her mother had been there it would have been her Stone was arrested at North Fork after working as a garage mechanic and the crime involved entering the Stammer home shooting the girl through a window then carrying her to a bedroom and removing clothing The medical exam showed no sexual assault Authorities found a thumb print on a glass fragment and the Figarden Men’s Club urged fingerprinting nearby residents while the case continued on page 2.
