USDA proposes safety standards to curb poultry Salmonella
The Agriculture Department floated voluntary standards to cut Salmonella and Campylobacter in chicken parts ground poultry and turkey aiming to reduce raw poultry illnesses by about a quarter or 50000 annually. The measure follows Foster Farms outbreaks and would publicly name compliant and noncompliant firms to spur action.
