Wellington minister dies after smash grab attack
Reverend Howard Moeller 58 of Wellington was beaten and robbed by youths after his car window was smashed at E 40th Street and Woodland Avenue. He collapsed and died at St Vincent Charity Hospital. Police treating it as homicide. autopsy pending. several witnesses being interviewed. Moeller had served Bethany Lutheran Church for three years.

Gov. Richard Celeste announced a $19 billion highway plan and ruled out including the North South Lorain County connector to Interstate 480. He outlined extensions of State Routes 10 to 20 and a SR 2 bypass around Huron with press events in Lorain, Sandusky, Akron, Cleveland and Toledo. The program aims to start mid 1985 and emphasize visible projects during the 1986 election, with $300 million state funds and federal funds driving the construction including 16 million for the Lorain project four miles of Ohio 20 east of Oberlin and SR 10, ending with a north-south corridor linkage.
