Official sources report Peiping, capital of the Manchu era China, surrendered today to Communist forces. The Nationalist Government began negotiations for a peace accord as Gen Fu Tso Yi, commander of the besieged garrison, reportedly surrendered. The agreement set a 10 am cutoff, last night, and troops were already withdrawing from the ancient valley to be reorganized into a People's Self-Defense Army.

Three Die In Series Of Chicago Fires

WINNIPEG Man A ski equipped airplane will attempt to evacuate 11 men marooned on an isolated ice floe in Hudson Bay 100 miles southeast of Churchill.
